The Angle(s): The Minnesota Golden Gophers (4-1) walk into a textbook letdown spot. Minnesota is riding high after back-to-back emotional underdog wins, 27-24 at Washington and 20-14 over Michigan, and now has to get back up for a road night game against a team it is expected to handle. The Gophers offense has averaged just 354.6 total yards per game and managed only 20 points last week, which makes it tough to create separation away from home.

The Purdue Boilermakers (2-3) are a better team than the record shows and come in with real momentum after going on the road and beating Illinois 24-17. Purdue has scored 36 or more in three of its five games, so the offense can trade punches under the lights at Ross-Ade Stadium.

The Bet: Purdue ATS (3%).  

UCLA @ Oregon CFB Free Pick

The Angle(s): The UCLA Bruins (4-0) are a perfect 4-0 against the spread under first-year coach Bob Chesney, and the market still hasn’t caught up. UCLA is scoring 44.8 points per game behind the most efficient ground attack in the country at 7.0 yards per carry, led by Wayne Knight (445 yards, nine touchdowns). A run game like that shortens the game and keeps a double-digit number well within reach. The Bruins have already proven it travels, winning 45-24 at Cal and 54-3 at Maryland.

The Oregon Ducks (3-1) are being priced on name value. Oregon’s defense is the weakest unit in this matchup, allowing 23.2 points per game, and the Ducks have covered just twice. They gave up 27 at home to Boise State and 39 in a loss at Oklahoma State. Chesney knows this building too: his James Madison team hung 34 on Oregon at Autzen in last year’s playoff. We’ll take the points.

MAGIC MIKE'S EARLY Indiana v Nebraska CFB BOOKIE BREAKER

The Angle(s): The Nebraska Cornhuskers (5-0) are catching a big number at home in a matchup of unbeatens that looks far closer on paper than this number suggests. Nebraska averages 43.6 points per game behind quarterback Anthony Colandrea, has won every game by at least 18 points, and is 4-1 against the spread. The Huskers already passed their road test with a 31-13 win at Michigan State.

The Indiana Hoosiers (5-0) are getting priced on reputation. Indiana is just 1-4 against the spread this season, needed a late escape to get past Northwestern 29-23 at home, and has played only one road game all year. Now the Hoosiers walk into Memorial Stadium with a massive home date against Ohio State on deck. That’s a classic sandwich spot, and I'll take the points with the live home underdog.

The Bet: Nebraska ATS (3%). 

5% SEC Game of the Year MEGA MAX BET

The Angle(s): The South Carolina Gamecocks (2-3) have dropped three straight (0-4 run against the spread) and the market is pricing them like a team in free fall. Look closer and two of those losses came by a combined eight points, 41-34 to Mississippi State and 35-34 to Kentucky last week. This offense is averaging 37.6 points per game and put up 34 in both of those SEC defeats, which gives the Gamecocks plenty of ways to stay inside a double-digit number.

The Florida Gators can score with anyone, but the defense has been a problem against SEC competition, giving up 39 at Auburn, 28 to Ole Miss and 45 in last week’s blowout loss at Missouri. Florida also has a trip to Texas on deck, a classic lookahead spot.

The Bet: South Carolina ATS (5%). 

4% NHL TOP PLAY of the Day

The Angle(s): This is a prime scheduling spot against the Columbus Blue Jackets, who are skating on no rest after grinding out a 3-2 shootout win over the Penguins last night and then traveling to St. Louis. It is also Columbus’ first road game of the season after opening with three straight at home, a tough ask on tired legs against a rested opponent.

The St. Louis Blues have been waiting two days for this one and they need it badly. St. Louis has dropped three straight since blanking the Stars 4-0 in the opener, and the market has overreacted to the skid with a short home price. Columbus has had the upper hand in this series lately, so the revenge motive is real for a desperate Blues team that can’t afford a fourth straight loss.

The Bet: Blues ML (4%). 

MAGIC MIKE'S NHL MONEYLINE MONEYMAKER

The Angle(s): The Nashville Predators come in as a live road underdog against a team they owned last season. Nashville swept the Ottawa Senators in 2025-26, winning 4-1 in this building and 5-3 at home, and the Preds arrive with real offensive momentum after hanging nine goals in two road games this week, capped by a 5-2 win over the Canadiens on Thursday. At 2-1-1, Nashville has taken points in three straight games.

The Senators are 3-1-0, but the record flatters them. Their crease is unsettled after Linus Ullmark left Monday’s game in Boston, and backup Samuel Ersson was tagged for five in Detroit the next night. Ottawa’s latest win was a one-goal squeaker over a Flyers team that has started the season 0-4. The market is pricing the Sens off that record, and I’ll gladly take the plus-money with the hotter offense.

The Bet: Predators (3%).
