Big Al McMordie

At 7 pm, our selection is on the Coppin State Eagles + the points over St. Joseph's.  The Hawks got a big win on Saturday when they upset cross-town rival, Temple, 70-69, as part of the city's Big 5 Classic.  This evening, St. Joe's will welcome the Eagles to Hagan Arena.  St. Joe's has not fared well as a big favorite vs. teams on the Added Board, cashing just 33% since 1990 when favored by more than 15.  Meanwhile, the Eagles have covered 62% on the road since 1990 vs. foes off an upset win.  And they're 32-22-2 ATS as a double-digit dog off back-to-back losses.  Grab the points.  Good luck, as always...Al McMordie.

At 7 pm, our selection is on the Kentucky Wildcats minus the points over North Carolina Central.  Mark Pope's Wildcats were blown out by Gonzaga, 94-59, on Friday.  And that was their 2nd straight loss, as they also were upset by North Carolina, 67-64, a week ago.  We'll lay the points with Kentucky, as it's 6-0 ATS its last six off back-to-back losses.  And it covered the point spread in those games by an average of 15.91 ppg.  Finally, 20-point (or greater) favorites have cashed 59% of non-conference games since 1990 off losses by 20+ points.  Take the Wildcats.  Good luck, as always...Al McMordie.

At 6:10 pm (note the early start time), our selection is on the Miami Heat over the Orlando Magic.  This game is part of the NBA's In-Season Tournament, and is the first Knockout Round game for each team.  The Heat and Magic have already met twice this season, with Orlando coming away victorious in each game (but the Heat covered the spread in each of those losses).  Besides playing with revenge, the Heat also come into tonight's game off 3 consecutive defeats.  We'll take Miami, as the Magic are 11-21-2 ATS at home vs. foes off 2+ losses, if the Magic were not favored by 2+ points.  And Miami is 8-3 ATS its last 11 vs. the Magic.  Finally, the Heat are 28-14 ATS on the road off 3+ losses.  Take the Heat.  Good luck, as always...Al McMordie.
