Big Al McMordie

At 7:15 pm, our selection is on the Milwaukee Brewers over the Los Angeles Dodgers.  In his last start, Brewers ace Jacob Misiorowski notched his 200th strikeout of the season (and it's only barely August).  It's the second-fastest that any MLB pitcher has ever reached 200 punchouts in a season (129 1/3 innings) with only Spencer Strider's 2023 mark coming sooner.  Ironically, although Sunday's performance was another quality start for the 24-year-old RH, Misiorowski didn't notch his 12th win of the season in that one as Milwaukee needed 10 innings to beat the Twins.  The Miz, as he's called, has all but locked up the NL Cy Young with League bests in ERA, WHIP, hit rate, K:BB ratio, and of course the aforementioned strikeout numbers (204).  He'll get his 23rd start of the season today and it's a huge one against the Dodgers, as just one game separates the two teams in the race for the league's best record.  In his only other start vs. L.A., Misiorowski was brilliant, tossing six one-run, four-hit innings with 12 K's and one walk.  This will be his first-ever start at Dodger Stadium.  Take the Brewers.  As always, good luck...Al McMordie.

At 7 pm, our selection is on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats + the points over Saskatchewan.  These teams met in Week 5 in Regina, and the Roughriders trounced the Ti-Cats, 38-7.  We'll take Hamilton as a home dog this evening, as Saskatchewan is a wallet-busting 40-65 ATS vs. revenge-minded foes it defeated earlier in the season, including 4-15-1 ATS its last 20 when playing a foe it defeated by at least 21 points in the prior meeting.  Moreover, .692 (or better) teams are a horrid 1-23 ATS away from home when favored between -6 and -9.5 points vs. a .250 (or better) revenge-minded foe they defeated earlier in the season.
