The New York Yankees have a total of 5 hits in losing the first two games of this series. Their offense was always going to be the problem in the playoffs, and that is playing out here without Aaron Judge. It won't get any easier against one of the most underrated starters in baseball in Nick Martinez in Game 3.
Martinez is 15-6 with a 3.10 ERA and 1.09 WHIP in 31 starts this season, including 7-3 with a 2.38 ERA and 1.00 WHIP in 16 road starts. He has owned the Yankees this season with a 2.16 ERA in three starts against them while allowing just 4 earned runs in 16 2/3 innings. Martinez and the Rays should not be this big of an underdog in Game 3 tonight.
Max Fried is getting too much respect, especially if you look at his results against the Rays this season. Fried has allowed 7 earned runs in 14 2/3 innings for a 4.29 ERA in two starts against Tampa Bay in 2026 alone. Bet the Rays in Game 3 Wednesday.

The Dodgers are ripe for the picking with several of their best hitters struggling, most notably Shohei Ohtani who looks like a shell of his former self. Ohtani is hitting .163 with zero homers, one RBI and 32 K's in his last 86 plate appearances. Los Angeles should not be this big of a favorite over Atlanta in Game 4 on the road tonight.
Tyler Mahle has proven to be the best trade acquisition of any starting pitcher at the deadline in all of baseball. Mahle posted a 1.99 ERA in his final nine starts of the regular season for the Braves. He then held the Phillies to just one earned run in 7 innings in his first career postseason start in Game 2 of that wild card series. He is ready for the moment, and is 3-3 with a 3.15 ERA in eight career starts against the Dodgers. Better yet, Mahle has fired 14 shutout innings for a 0.00 ERA in two starts against the Dodgers over the last two seasons.
Tyler Glasnow has really struggled down the stretch for the Dodgers. He has allowed 13 earned runs in 22 1/3 innings in his last four starts for a 5.24 ERA in his last four starts. Glasnow allowed 3 earned runs in 5 innings of a 4-3 loss to the Braves in his lone start against them this season. Worse yet, Glasnow is 0-5 with a 6.45 ERA in five career postseason starts on the road while averaging just 4.5 innings per start. He could get the quick pull, which would put a lot of pressure on this suspect Los Angeles bullpen. Bet the Braves in Game 4 Wednesday.
20* Guardians/White Sox ALDS No-Brainer on Chicago -109
The Chicago White Sox have a big advantage on offense over the Cleveland Guardians. They are scoring 4.8 runs per game compared to 4.15 runs per game for the Guardians. Cleveland was fortunate in close games this season, and its luck has run out in the playoffs.
Chicago outscored Houston 13-6 while sweeping the ALWC series. They didn't look intimidated at all and looked like they belong. Now they have their sights set on revenge on the Guardians, who stole the division from them. This will be the ultimate revenge to knock them out of the playoffs.
It started with a 3-0 victory by the White Sox in Game 1 in which the Guardians were held to 3 hits. They held the Guardians to 4 hits in their 4-3 victory in Game 2 in which Cleveland got 2 runs off of an error in the 1st inning. The Guardians are rusty after having a week off, and now they'll be playing just their 3rd game since September 27th, and it will be hard to see them finding their groove offensively with so much time off.
The White Sox have held opponents to 6 hits or fewer in each of their first four postseason games during this 4-0 run. They are piecing together a bullpen, and Grant Taylor has been a monster at the back end of it and will be available again tonight after throwing just 7 pitchers in Game 2. Not to mention, the White Sox haven't clinched a postseason series at home since 1906, so it will be a raucous atmosphere to try and get the job done tonight.
The Guardians used their best two starters by far in Messick and Williams for Games 1 and 2. Now they will be going with a bullpen game starting with Daniel Espisino, who has posted a 3.94 ERA and 1.31 WHIP in 16 innings this season, allowing 7 earned runs and 3 homers. This Cleveland bullpen has folded in these playoffs and looks overmatched as well. Bet the White Sox in Game 3 Wednesday.
20* Jax State/Kennesaw State C-USA No-Brainer on Jacksonville State -2.5
I love the spot for Jacksonville State tonight. The Gamecocks have had this game circled all offseason since losing to Kennesaw State in the C-USA Championship Game last season. They want revenge, and they will get it in a big way tonight as they have clearly been the better team to this point.
The Gamecocks brought back nine starters from that team that made the title game last season which is a lot for a Group of 6 team. None more important than QB Caden Creel, who threw for 1,514 yards and 9 TD last season, while also rushing for 1,076 yards and 7 scores as one of the best dual-threat QB's in the country. Leading receiver Deondre Johnson (724 yards, 6 TD) is back, as are five starters and three of the top four tacklers on defense.
The Gamcocks are off to a 3-2 start this season with their only losses coming on the road at North Dakota State and at Ohio. North Dakota State looks like a serious playoff contender to challenge for that Group of 6 spot as the Bison remain unbeaten. The loss to Ohio was a joke as they outgained the Bobcats by 188 yards but found a way to lose in OT. They dominated in the stats in their home wins over Eastern Kentucky (49-7), Georgia Southern (31-27) and Middle Tennessee (23-13).
Kennesaw State is 1-3 this season and way down from last year. The Owls' lone win came against FCS West Georgia at home in the opener. They went on to lose by 14 at home to Georgia State, by 33 at Tennessee and by 3 at Arkansas State. The Owls were gutted on offense only bringing back two starters. They lost both QB's in Odom and Williams, their top six rushers, and each of their top four receivers.
It's no wonder this Kennesaw State offense is really struggling this season being held to 17 points by a bad Georgia State defense, 9 points by Tennessee and 14 points by a bad Arkansas State defense. Their defense has been respectable, but it was a bad defense last year that brought back six starters from a unit that allowed 405 yards per game.
While QB Odom is now starting at Syracuse, Kennesaw State now has former Syracuse QB Rickie Collins as its starter. That's a bad tradeoff as Odom is the much better guy. Rickie Collins was terrible at Syracuse last year only playing because of an injury to starter Steve Angeli. He made five starters for the Orange last season and completed just 54% of his passes with a 6-to-10 TD/INT ratio. He hasn't been much better for Kennesaw with a 2-to-1 TD/INT ratio in four games.
A quick look at the numbers and it's easy to see Jacksonville State is far and away the superior team. Jacksonville State averaged 6.6 yards per play on offense and allows 5.0 yards per play on defense, outgaining opponents by 1.6 yards per play. Kennesaw State averages 5.5 yards per play on offense and allows 5.8 yards per play on defense, getting outgained by 0.3 yards per play. Bet Jacksonville State Wednesday.
