South Florida at Rutgers Game Recap
November 13, 2009
Tom Edringon had a nice article on the recap of the Rutgers/South Florida game Thursday night. Basically it boils down to how terrible South Florida played, and how you can expect those kinds of performances out of the Bulls on Thursday night (1-6 now on that day of the week). The team also should stay away from Rutgers as they have now lost four straight to the Scarlet Knights.
The final score was 31-0 on a chilly night in Piscataway, all Scarlet Knights and it could have and should have been worse. This was the first shutout South Florida has had in a regular season game. The defense at least played well in the first half to keep the score 13-0, but then the levy broke in the second half. Two interceptions, two fumbles, a blocked punt, a muffed punt return, it all added up to a night to forget for USF and its fans. It was embarrassing for a team that was ranked going into the game. USF only managed 159 yards total offense. There was no rushing attack for the Bulls. BJ Daniels was sacked seven times. It was ugly and what makes it worse is they had a bye week to prepare.
Some of our football handicappers were all over this game. Steve Merril had the under which cashed easily. John Martin, Freddy Wills, and the Black Widow were all on Rutgers. If you did your football betting by following any of these guys, you didn’t have to sweat at all last night.
