NFL future betting gives you the option of placing a bet on a team to win over/under a certain amount of games, whether or not they will win the division, if they will win their conference,  or if they have what it takes to win the Super Bowl. These bets allow you to get some pretty good NFL odds on teams that are about to break through with a monster season, compared to making the same bet halfway through the season.

In the NFL you can see one team go from bottom feeder to playoff contender, much like the Miami Dolphins did a few years back. The Dolphins finished the 2007 season at 1-15, and no one expected them to do anything in 2008, but this team shocked everyone going 11-5 to win the AFC East. This is why I love future bets so much in the NFL, if you were to have placed a bet on the Dolphins to win the division in 2008, you would have been rewarded with a very nice payday, as many sportsbooks had this team picked to finish at the bottom of the league.

I personally like making bets on teams win totals. Many times the average person will look to much at the final record of a team the year before, and not at what the team did in the offseason. The only thing you should be looking at from the previous season is how good the team was at the end of the season compared to how good the team was at the beginning of the season. Coaching and personal changes can make a huge impact from one year to the next, also you have to look for young teams who are on the verge of maturing.

When it comes to making future wagers on who is going to win the division, conference, or Super Bowl, it is usually wise to stick with the top teams, as you will rarely see the case of the 2008 Dolphins, as they benefited greatly from the New England Patriots losing quarterback Tom Brady for the season. More times than not the best teams are going to win it all, so while a team can make a huge improvement and sneak into the playoffs, it’s unlikely they make it all the way to the Super Bowl.
