College Football Predictions

June 8, 2010

We aren’t far away from another exciting season of college football, and while preseason ratings mean little to nothing, I have taken some time to look at the teams that have the best chance at coming away with the 2010 BCS National Championship. For those of you looking to do some football betting this season, find out what college football odds the oddsmakers are giving your favorite team at Sportsbook.com. 1. Alabama Crimson Tide – I am a firm believer that you can’t take away the top spot from a school until they give you reason to. Some believe that this team will not be able to defend their title having to replace nine starters on defense, but this team has so much talent just waiting to get on the field, that there is a chance they could be even better this season. This is much like all the great USC teams of the last decade, where no matter how many players they lost, they were always in contention to win it all. As long as head coach Nick Saban stays in town, I believe that will be the case for the Crimson Tide.

2. Ohio State Buckeyes – I’m sure there will be plenty of people complaining if Ohio State ends up playing for the National Championship this season, as this school has really struggled to play well in the big game when given the chance the past few years. Still this team is loaded with weapons on both side of the football, and have one of the best young quarterbacks in the game in Terrelle Pryor.

3. Tie: Florida Gators and Oklahoma Sooners – Both these schools had their 2009 starting quarterback taken in the first round of the NFL draft. The Sooners got a head start, thanks to an unfortunate ending to Sam Bradford’s season, while the Gators have the challenge of replacing arguably the best college quarterback to ever play the game in Tim Tebow. It won’t be easy but these are two of the best college programs in the nation, and just like Alabama, there is so much talent just waiting to get on the field that they can lose these kind of players and still be one of the best teams in the nation.

Close Behind: Boise State Broncos, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Arkansas Razorbacks, Iowa Hawkeyes, Oregon Ducks, Texas Longhorns, USC Trojans, Virginia Tech Hokies, Miami Hurricane, and TCU Horned Frogs
