Alabama College Football Predictions 2010

September 1, 2010

Alabama went 14-0 last year and won the national championship over the Texas Longhorns.  They are the preseason favorite to win it all again in 2010.  Nick Saban managed to win a title in his third year on the job, and he’s now 33-8 in his three seasons here.  His recruiting skills are sure to be put to the test this year, especially on the defensive side of the ball where only two starters return.  Their will have to rely on an offense that should be explosive this season with eight returning...

2010 Louisville Football Predictions

August 26, 2010

Louisville heads into the 2010 season under new head coach Charlie Strong, who was most recently the defensive coordinator at Florida. Strong will try and turn things around at Louisville, as the Cardinals have not finished better than 6-6 in the last three years, and are coming off a miserable 4-8 season. The Cardinals only conference win came against lowly Syracuse by a single point, as Louisville finished up at 1-6 in Big East play. The hope is that it won’t take long for Strong to turn...

LSU Football Predictions 2010

July 1, 2010

The LSU Tigers went 9-4 last season, with all four of their losses coming by 10 points or less. And each loss came against a solid team with the likes of Alabama, Florida, Penn State and Ole Miss. But it appears the Tigers may be slipping in head coach Les Miles’ 6th year on the job. Miles is 51-15 at LSU through his first five seasons, but he’ll have his hands full with only six offensive and four defensive starters returning. Check below to find out much more about the Tigers along with my...

2010 Sun Belt Football Predictions

July 1, 2010

The Sun Belt sees it’s fair share of shootouts, making for one of the more exciting conferences in the country. Troy has won back-to-back titles, but they lose a lot of talent this season which could open the door for a few other teams. Below I list my 2010 Sun Belt football predictions, offering the finishing order of each team within the conference. Take a look at my overall 2010 college football predictions article to find out which teams have the best shot at a national title this year. It...

WAC Football Predictions 2010

June 25, 2010

This will be Boise State’s last chance to put their mark on the WAC in 2010, as they will be moving to the Mountain West in 2011. Their dominance cannot be denied as the Broncos have won seven of the past eight conference titles. If Boise State were to go undefeated again this season, then they’d be riding a 26-game winning streak and it would be hard for voters to keep them out of the national title game. Can the Broncos win this conference again this season? Find out below with my 2010 WAC...

2010 Big East Football Predictions

June 25, 2010

The Big East will be adding a few bowl games this season and also axing a few. The Gator, Sun and International bowls will all be axed, making room for the Champs Sports Bowl in Orlando along with the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium. The team that finishes No. 2 in the conference will be playing a team from the Big 12 in one of the most exciting new bowls in the country. There are several new coaches in the Big East this year with Butch Jones taking over at Cincinnati, Charlie Strong at Louisville...

Pac-10 Football Predictions 2010

June 22, 2010

The Pac-10 has had a big offseason shakeup with the additions of Colorado and Utah for the 2011 season. USC will welcome in a new head coach in Lane Kiffin, as former boss Pete Carroll has left to coach the Seattle Seahawks in the National Football League. The Oregon football program has to be somewhat disgusted by the fact that QB Jeremiah Masoli has been suspended for the season, and RB LaMichael James has been suspended for the season-opener. Not to mention former head coach and first-year athletic...

Crazy Atmosphere for Oregon at Arizona

November 17, 2009

The Arizona Wildcats football team is going to be wearing their all-red jerseys this weekend when they play Oregon, and they want all of their fans to wear Red as well, making the game a “Red Out.”  Last year in this matchup Arizona ended Oregon’s national title hopes by taking down the No. 2 team in the nation on a nationally televised Thursday night game. ESPN will have their attention focused on this contest again this year.  For the first time in school history ESPN College...

Edwards Hit on Cribbs In the Last Play

November 17, 2009

How ugly was that hit on Josh Cribbs last night by Ravens defensive end Dwan Edwards.  Edwards should probably be suspended and fined as this was the last play of the game, and Quinn threw a pass to Cribbs, who then began to run and and then lateralled the ball to tight end Robert Royal.  Then unbeknownst to Cribbs, he was targeted by Edwards who went for Cribbs’ throat and smashed his arm right into Cribbs’ head, causing him to lie motionless on the field once the game was over. Was...

South Florida at Rutgers Game Recap

November 13, 2009

Tom Edringon had a nice article on the recap of the Rutgers/South Florida game Thursday night. Basically it boils down to how terrible South Florida played, and how you can expect those kinds of performances out of the Bulls on Thursday night (1-6 now on that day of the week). The team also should stay away from Rutgers as they have now lost four straight to the Scarlet Knights. The final score was 31-0 on a chilly night in Piscataway, all Scarlet Knights and it could have and should have been...

Green Bay’s Problems

November 12, 2009

What’s wrong with the Green Bay Packers?  I was reading this article by Jackson Dworak on what work needs to be done by the Packers in order to get them back in shape, and thought he made some good points. 1. Management. He thinks the Ted Thompson era in Green Bay has been a disaster, since 2004 was his first year as GM and it was also Green Bay’s first losing campaign in 13 seasons. His draft history has been sketchy and he hasn’t done a good job of signing free agents (with...
