Crazy Atmosphere for Oregon at Arizona
November 17, 2009
The Arizona Wildcats football team is going to be wearing their all-red jerseys this weekend when they play Oregon, and they want all of their fans to wear Red as well, making the game a “Red Out.” Last year in this matchup Arizona ended Oregon’s national title hopes by taking down the No. 2 team in the nation on a nationally televised Thursday night game.
ESPN will have their attention focused on this contest again this year. For the first time in school history ESPN College GameDay will be on the Arizona campus to broadcast live from the UA mall from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday morning. Fans showing up for the broadcast can expect a large, raucous crowd clamoring to get some airtime with their hand-made sign. Will Lee Corso don the mascot head of Wilbur Wildcat or Donald Duck.
The Wildcats have a lot at stake here as a win would keep them in the hunt for a share of the Pac-10 title while a loss would make it tougher for them to play in a top-notch bowl game. Oregon will be the toughest team that Arizona has faced this year.
