The 2009 College football season is here and again value in the odds on season win totals. There are constantly schools that transcend or drop short of high expected values set by the sportsbooks. When trying to find value, you must group games into three groups…easy wins, automatic losses and question marks. Ideally you need to find a lot of sure outcomes when predicting which side of the total you like. Sportsbook.com offers a FREE bet to all NEW accounts!

PITTSBURGH UNDER 7.5 wins

The Panthers are one of the many schools in the ordinary Big East who could be towards the top or battle the Orange in the rear end. There’s a lot of doubt in the Big East with Rutgers, West Virginia, USF and Pittsburgh among those who could taking home the title. Upon first look in Pittsburgh you’ll discover no LeSean McCoy who stabilized the position along with LaRod Stephens-Howling who has also departed. The Panthers bring back 15 starters but are handicapped by Dave Wannstedt who isn’t exactly a coaching mastermind. The schedule is also going to be difficult.

Automatic Victories (4): 9/5 Youngstown State, 9/19 Navy, 10/10 UConn, 11/7 Syracuse

Automatic Defeats (2): 9/26 @ NC State, 10/16 @ Rutgers

Undecided (6):

9/12 @ Buffalo — The Bulls played the Panthers to a close game in Pittsburgh falling 27-16 to the Panthers and were only down by a single point going in the 4th quarter. The Panthers lost to Bowling Green last season on their home turf and the Bulls have similar talent. James Starks and Naaman Roosevelt will need to have a strong game for the Bulls to pull off the upset.

10/2 @ Louisville — The Panthers have gone down in seven of their last eight to Louisville stopping a seven game losing streak last year. The Cardinals return 13 starters and a compelling offense that will need time to gel with new QB Justin Burke, the NC State transfer.

10/24 vs. USF — Matt Grothe and George Selvie lead the spotty Bulls. Last year Pittsburgh came through in Florida but the Bulls won the game in Pittsburgh two years ago. USF lives and dies by their strong defense and has shown they can win on the road putting it on NC State last year.

11/14 vs. Notre Dame — The Irish will be much better this year and are 12-3 since 1988 against Pitt. Last year Pittsburgh won 36-33 in 4OT against the Irish in South Bend so want back will be on ND’s minds.

11/27 @ West Virginia — Revenge will be embedded in this one as well. The Panthers have won two straight in this rivalry but Jarrett Brown and Jock Sanders head up an offense that can put up points if the need arises. West Virginia may also support the best secondary in the conference.

12/5 vs. Cincinnati — Eight starters on offense are back plus possibly the top coach in the conference in Brian Kelly. Cincy possibly need this game for bowl eligibility. Cincy won last year’s contest.

Leans:

TCU UNDER 9 (+110) – Tough road trips to Virginia, Clemson, Air Force, Brigham Young and a sneaky trip to Laramie could bring home the Under.

OKLAHOMA STATE OVER 9 (+110) – The Cowboys just need to take one game out of the group of Texas, @ Oklahoma and Georgia.
